IMCS at "FE ohne Schnee" 2023

The chair of IMCS was again invited to participate in the “FE ohne Schnee” event this year, which took place in Kleinwalsertal. Our postdoc Ivo Steinbrecher was able to present its work on mixed-dimensional modeling. A lot of fruitful discussions emerged among the participants in the fields of finite elements, material modeling, form finding, and high-fidelity modeling. In addition to that, the participants also went on hikes in the beautiful mountain scenery of the Allgäu Alps.

The seminar series was founded by Prof. Ekkehard Ramm in 1985, and has been regularly held in the Söllerhaus in Kleinwalsertal. This year, the attendance and participation of fellow researchers from TU Munich, University of Braunschweig, University of Hanover, and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, provided a perfect environment for networking and idea exchange among the different institutes. We want to thank the Institute for Structural Mechanics from the University of Stuttgart, especially Dr.-Ing. Malte von Scheven, for the perfect organization of this conference.
