Thomas Apel as a guest at universities in Hamburg and Hannover

Professor Thomas Apel was a guest at our sister university, Helmut Schmidt University Hamburg, on May 28 and 29, 2024, to discuss questions from the fields of research, teaching and self-administration with Professors Markus Bause and Sven Knoth and their staff. The highlight of the visit was his lecture on interpolation with anisotropic quadrilateral elements, which met with great interest from the audience.

Thomas Apel then traveled to Hanover with the same lecture, where he visited Professors Sven Beuchler and Thomas Wick at Leibniz University Hanover. There, too, he discussed possible thematic points of contact in research with the local research groups.

IMCS says goodbye to Venant Habiyambere

At the end of this month, the IMCS is saying goodbye to its longest-serving employee Venant Habiyambere. After 35 years (!) at the UniBw, the technical employee is taking his well-deserved retirement. To mark the occasion, Venant hosted a small retirement party at the institute yesterday with home-made African specialties.
