Simon Göppel led a mixed reality tutorial at the International Conference on Research in Air Transportation (ICRAT). Under the title "Connected Mixed Reality in Virtual Towers", the term mixed reality was first discussed, the VR glasses Microsoft HoloLens 2 were introduced and exciting application possibilities for aviation were presented. In the practical part, the airport model of Singapore Changi Airport was brought to life holographically in mixed reality. Participants were able to interact with the model via the HoloLens 2 and guide virtual aircraft to their gates.
