EXCURSION TO THE AIRPORT

On June 10, 2024, a group of students had the opportunity to visit Munich Airport. The excursion was organized as part of the "Grundlagen des Luftverkehrs" lecture and provided the participants with practical insights to complement their theoretical studies.

Under the expert guidance of Mr. Link, the students received a comprehensive, two-hour tour of Terminals 1 and 2 as well as the apron. Mr. Link explained the operations and special features of the airport in detail, giving the participants a deep understanding of the logistical challenges and the current situation at a large international airport.

This visit allowed the students to experience and deepen their theoretical knowledge in practice. Additionally, the excursion offered a valuable opportunity to develop ideas for future research projects and explore career prospects in the field of air traffic.

Flow-centric air traffic control

Creating traffic flows that minimize congestion (hot spots) and enable flow-centric operations is important for future air traffic control.
