On November 14, 2024, the fourth lecture of this year took place in the Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) research colloquium organized by Professors Apel, Brünig, Kiendl and Popp. Alessio Gizzi, Associate Professor in Solid & Structural Mechanics at the University Campus Bio-Medico of Rome gave a detailed presentation on the topic of "Active biomechanics: Nonlocality and multiphysics modeling". The accompanying discussion and Q&A session confirmed the great interest shown by the audience in the exciting presentation. In the run-up to the talk, Prof. Gizzi, who was invited to the IMCS by Sebastian Brandstäter, held numerous discussions with some members of the institute about their current projects.
