Chair of Insurance and Risk Management

The Chair of Insurance and Risk Management is part of the Institute for Controlling, Finance and Risk Management (CFR). In addition to insurance, risk management is one of the main research areas of the chair.

Risk management in its broad, process-oriented approach includes all aspects of corporate risk management. Research projects in this field are concerned with operational risk management, business process risk management and risk management within projects.

The insurance industry can be regarded as a special institutional form of risk management. The chair's research spectrum ranges from the insurance coverage of major risks, bancassurance, microinsurance, risk management in insurance companies, the regulation of insurers to sustainability in the insurance sector.
