Lake Como Summer School on Isogeometric Analysis 2024
15 Juli 2024
Last week, the IMCS took part in the Summer School "Isogeometric Analysis: Theory, Applications, and New Trends". The venue was the beautiful Lake Como School of Advanced Studies, which is located directly on the shores of Lake Como in Italy.
The program included numerous specialist lectures by founders and leading experts in the method of isogeometric analysis. The mathematical foundations were covered in detail and a number of suitable applications were explained in which the strengths of the method can be exploited. In addition, currently relevant fields of research were discussed and there was plenty of time and space for all participants and lecturers to exchange ideas. The program was completed by individual lectures by the participants, with IMCS member Philipp Zilk also contributing a talk on "Graded isogeometric mesh refinement towards corners of polar-type domains".
We would like to thank the organizers Carlotta Giannelli, Monica Montardini and Giancarlo Sangalli as well as all lecturers for hosting this extremely instructive summer school, which turned out to be a complete success all along the line.
