Manned-Unmanned Teaming for the German Navy
9 April 2019
The German Navy is also interested in unmanned flying and Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) missions. On the occasion of the UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) Workshop of the Naval Command in Nordholz, Prof. Axel Schulte presents the institute's research results on mission control and user-centered automation approaches in MUM-T missions to 40 naval staff officers. Flotilla Admiral Ulrich Reineke, Head of the Planning Department in the Naval Command, who is leading the workshop, is enthusiastic about the approaches and immediately announces the return visit to our laboratories at the university. Of course, no PowerPoint presentation can replace a live demonstration of the functions and mission capabilities. Further contributions from industry and other research institutions, as well as the obligatory Beer-Call will round off the program with ample opportunity for discussion and networking.
