Air Power Connected

Morgen (tomorrow) was the title of the German Air Force Forum at the ILA (Berlin Air Show). Under the direction of Lieutenant General Dr. Ansgar Rieks (Deputy Air Chief, GAF) and hosted by Pelin Afat (IABG), distinguished experts discussed future trends from different perspectives. Col Jill Long (United States Air Force) took the operational perspective, Dr. Dirk Zimper (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V.) focused on technology. Prof. Axel Schulte (MARC – HuMiCS Lab, Universität der Bundeswehr München) contributed the human integration view. Harald Mannheim (Airbus Defence and Space) represented industry.
The ambitious goal of connected air power of tomorrow can only be achieved by bundling the different competencies, so far the consensus with the large specialists audience.
For the MARC – HuMiCS Lab representatives Prof. Axel Schulte and Dr. Diana Donath, the two days at the Berlin Air Show was extremely worthwhile in terms of networking in the FCAS and helicopter technology communities.
