Research at the Laboratory for High Power Electronic Systems

High-power electronics is one of the key enabling technologies for the transformation into a green and sustainable society. Not just electric vehicles cannot drive without electronic converters, virtually all renewable energy sources are connected to the grid by power electronics. Ultimately, the new requirements arising from the volatile renewable sources, rapidly growing demands for vehicle charging and battery storage integration, will be met by flexible, electronically controllable DC grids.
