Vortrag von Prof. Dr. Ophelia Deroy (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München) "Exploiting the machine: A new challenge for Human-AI interactions"

18. 02. 2020 | 16.00 Uhr - 17.30 Uhr

Humans cooperate with others, on a daily basis, and even with strangers.
When deciding for instance to slow down on the road when we face another car on a narrow road, we accept the solution which maximises the collective benefit consider only our own interest - also expecting the others to do the same. But what will happen when the other humans we are used to cooperate with get replaced by artificial agents? Using classic games from behavioural economy, our study reveals unintended consequences of our interactions with AI, which we label "algorithm exploitation". We also consider what this bias implies for AI ethics and future interactions between humans and intelligent machines.
