Christoph Peters studied Business Informatics at the University of Mannheim and worked at the Department of Information Systems and at the Research Center for Information System Design (ITeG) at the University of Kassel where he completed his doctoral thesis (summa cum laude). Peters habilitated at the School of Management / Institute for Information Systems and Digital Business at the University of St.Gallen.
Prof. Peters’ research focuses on the design and management of digital and AI-based processes, services and corresponding business models as well as digital and agile transformation. He adopts a socio-technical systems perspective and strives to design human-centered solutions that are technically stable, economically viable, socially desirable and sustainable.
His teaching has been internationally awarded, and In recent years, Prof. Peters has taught almost 50 courses. He will also incorporate this teaching expertise into his courses in the new “Digital Administration” („Digitale Verwaltung“) B. Sc. Program. In addition to conducting numerous research projects and serving on various committees, advisory boards and working groups, he has also spent research periods at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia, the Service Research Center (CTF) at Karlstad University in Sweden, Tel Aviv University in Israel, the iSchool at the University of Maryland, USA, and the Service Research Alliance at Cambridge University, UK. Peters has also founded several companies (including with six-figure seed funding) and is an advisor to numerous start-ups (especially with a focus on AI and technology-driven solutions).
In research and teaching, Prof. Peters is enthusiastic about designing solutions that integrate technological pioneering and human-centeredness and thus contribute to a sustainably successful digital transformation. As an internationally renowned information systems researcher, Prof. Christoph Peters deals intensively with new technologies and their use for the design of human-centered solutions. He is looking forward to the interdisciplinary collaboration at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich.
