PD Dr. rer. pol. habil. Christian Nitzl

Dr. Christian Nitzl studied business administration at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich. He received his doctorate (2012) and habilitation (2020) from the University of Bundeswehr Munich. Since January 2020, Dr. Nitzl has been a Senior Researcher at the CISS.

His research interests are in the governance of organizations using information systems, the use of information by managers in decision-making, wargaming, and statistical analysis methods. According to the Stanford list (Scopus), he is among the top 2%, and according to ResearchGate, he is among the top 1% most cited scholars worldwide. He has published 50+ articles in scientific journals in management accounting, public management, information systems, computer science, and others. To date, he has served as a reviewer for top-tier journals at several times. He has received various awards and participated in multiple externally funded projects. He also regularly coaches researchers and practitioners and is a frequently invited speaker.

Currently, Dr. Nitzl is active in teaching at the WOW Faculty of the University of Bundeswehr Munich, teached in the MISS- module "Theoretical Approaches and Methods in Intelligence and Security Studies", supervising MISS master theses and doctoral dissertations, and is involved in the examination and selection organization of the MISS program.
