Dipl.-Ing. Oberstleutnant i.G. Timo Muff
After joining the Bundeswehr in 1986 as an officer candidate in the Army Air Defence Force, Lieutenant Colonel Timo Muff underwent officer training, which included training as commander of the Gepard anti-aircraft gun tank and as a platoon leader. He then completed a degree in electrical engineering at the Universität der Bundeswehr in München, which he successfully completed in 1993.
After various military assignments, he took part in the staff officer course at the Bundeswehr Command and Staff College in Hamburg in 1999.
After further assignments, he was deputy commander of the anti-aircraft gun battalion 12 and head of the MANTIS deployment staff from 2009 to 2011. He then served in the 10th Armoured Division in General Staff Department 2 as a staff officer in military intelligence and head of sub department. He has completed several foreign missions of the Bundeswehr, including in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo and Afghanistan.
Most recently, Lieutenant Colonel Timo Muff worked as section chief Information and Sensor Management in global satellite-based imaging reconnaissance from 2021 to 2024.
Since December, 16, 2024, Lieutenant Colonel Timo Muff has been Managing Director of the Center for Intelligence and Security Studies at the Universität der Bundeswehr München.
