Maintaining the initiative and imposing one's own way of fighting on the enemy is crucial in war. But how do we intend to wage war if we must? How do our conceptions of strategies and tactics develop? What lessons do we learn from past wars, and how do we adapt our methods for the future? To answer these questions, CISS aims to address relevant issues of strategy, tactics, institutional learning, and innovation through its research division "Warfare and Innovation."
