Extremist actors have long used propaganda and disinformation to try to influence societies. More recently, the mainstreaming of extremist positions in societal discourses is of particular importance. We analyze how extremist actors use their very own language trying to make certain terms or narratives acceptable and thus sayable in socio-political discourses on a wide variety of topics - gender issues, migration, war, health. Our research explores how the mainstreaming of extremist positions through propaganda and disinformation changes socio-political discourses over time and what consequences this has for the democratic process.
