Intervention points for gender-sensitive deradicalization work with women and girls in the area of Salafism
Today, women and girls are no longer a marginal phenomenon in the phenomenon area of Salafist radicalization. While the role of women is increasingly addressed in prevention, gender-sensitive deradicalization work is still in its nascent stages. The project therefore develops a concept for gender-sensitive deradicalization work with women and girls in the phenomenon area of Salafism. To this end, the radicalization trajectories of individual women as well as the roles, action options, networks and mobilization strategies of women in the Salafist scene will be examined. The aim of the project is to identify intervention points for a gender-sensitive approach to deradicalization measures for women and girls.
The project is funded by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) and carried out under the leadership of the project partners Competence Center for Deradicalization (KomZ) at the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office and the Hessian Information and Competence Center against Extremism in cooperation with the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution of Baden-Württemberg and the Center for Intelligence and Security Studies.
