Institut Aero in Orlando

20 Januar 2025

Denis Surmann, Luca Hein, and Purav Panchal, research assistants from our Institute for Aeronautical Engineering, recently represented our institution at the AIAA 2025 SciTech conference in Orlando from January 5th to 10th. Showcasing the compelling research at our institute, they presented notable advancements in their respective areas. Mr. Surmann presented an innovative trajectory design and path control algorithm for a fixed wing eVTOL whereas Mr. Hein introduced his research on requirements-based performance optimization of a electric general aviation aircraft through nonlinear dynamic flight simulations. Mr. Panchal presented advancements of the software development of a flight control system with respect to the software architecture and simulation verification. Their presentations not only demonstrated their expertise but also emphasized our institute's dedication to advancing aeronautical engineering research on a global scale. Their research is part of the ELAPSED project.
