Kompetenzzentrum für Ionenstrahlen in Materialforschung und Medizin
Competence Center for Ion Beams in Materials Research and Medicine
Do we need a new center of competence?
Perspectives for research at a 14 MV tandem accelerator
You are cordially invited to attend the KIMM-Workshop. We want to foster a proposal for a new center of competence for high energy ion beam research utilizing a 14 MV tandem accelerator, a LINAC booster and a unique scientific instrumentation. The main research fields are radiotherapy, radiation protection/biology, materials sciences and astro- and environmental physics as well as their applications in medicine, engineering and industry.
When: May 2nd, 2019 (start: 9:00 - end approx.: 17:00)
Where: Universität der Bundeswehr München, Audimax (33/0161)
The main objective of this workshop is:
• providing an overview of planned activities at KIMM
• presenting the current design of the accelerator lab and its instrumentation
• collecting ideas and proposals from the attendees for the use of the unique capabilities at KIMM
• initiating a supporting community for KIMM
You are welcome to present your ideas of research at the new center of competence KIMM. We also encourage you to attend the workshop to support the foundation of KIMM. The workshop features a technical program of invited talks and a session for contributed posters. A detailed program will be distributed soon.
