Halil Topcuk studied political and social sciences at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich (2017-2021) and has completed his studies with a master’s degree. Since October 2023, he has been working at the Professorship for the Study of Religions with a main focus on Islam. As an operational officer for personality development, one of his responsibilities include the cooperation with the military chaplaincy. His academic interests include ongoing endeavors to establish a military chaplaincy for Bundeswehr members of Muslim faith, the religious landscape of Islamic religious communities in Germany and Turkey as well as the sociology of these movements.
