Lisa Samira Mohrat studied Languages, History and Cultures of the Near and Middle East and Sociology at Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen (2014-2018) and Near and Middle East with a focus on Arabic and Iranian Studies at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich (2019-2022).
During her master's studies, much of her academic work focused on gender-based topics. In particular, her master's thesis focuses on Western feminist approaches and theories, and especially those from the SWANA (Southwest Asia and North Africa) region.
Since 2017, she has been working as a flight attendant at Deutsche Lufthansa AG. 2021 to 2022 she worked as a research assistant with the team of the detec project Media4Peace, which aims to use the potentials of digitization to be conflict-sensitive, de-escalating and peace-building with innovative, sustainable and ethical journalism in war and conflict regions. She is co-editor of the student journal Ya3ni.
Since January 2023, she has been a research assistant at the Chair of " Modern Cultural History of North Africa” and is currently working on her dissertation.
