Contribution at Vertical Flight Society Forum 80

14 Mai 2024

Engineers of ELAPSED recently participated in the Vertical Flight Society Forum 80 held in Montréal, Canada, from May 7 to 9, 2024, and presented the development of nonlinear flight control for a lift-to-cruise eVTOL. The event, focusing on electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and their cutting-edge advancements, provided a platform for experts and industry leaders to exchange insights and showcase groundbreaking developments. Denis Surmann and Purav Panchal seized the opportunity to share their research, focusing not only on the Incremental Nonlinear Dynamic Inversion nonlinear flight control concept but also on the implemented safety-critical software development approach. The eVTOL development will help in developing a flying testbed for the ELAPSED multilevel smart battery.

As the demand for sustainable and efficient urban transportation solutions continues to grow, ELAPSED remains at the forefront of driving innovation in the field of aviation. With its commitment to pushing the boundaries of scientific exploration, the team reaffirms its dedication to shaping a brighter, more interconnected future through transformative research and collaboration.
