Looking back at 2024
26 December 2024
As we conclude 2024, we take pride in the achievements of our research group. This year, we presented more than 10 papers at various international conferences, including ECMLPKDD, EWAF, PAKDD, CIRP ICME and ICAIF.
Members of our team also delivered invited talks and participated in thought-provoking panels at events. In addition to these academic contributions, we reached significant collaborative milestones through major projects like MAMMOth, where we engaged in productive discussions and advanced key objectives during project meetings. We also marked the conclusion of the Offshore Megastructures project, which has been an important focus of our research efforts for the past 3 years. Another notable success was the progress made in the Hephaestus project, alongside our project partners, culminating in a joint publication. Our group also made substantial contributions to STELAR, a Horizon Europe project focused on designing a Knowledge Lake Management System (KLMS) to enhance data discovery, AI-ready data, and semantic interoperability for smart agriculture and food safety applications. Within STELAR, our team is addressing critical challenges in predicting crop types using spatio-temporal geospatial data and mitigating bias in AI models, further pushing the boundaries of innovation in these domains.
Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited to continue building on these successes, exploring new frontiers in AI and machine learning, and fostering impactful collaborations. Thank you to everyone who supported us and contributed to making 2024 such an extraordinary year.
