AIML AT ECMLPKDD 2024 IN VILNIUS, LITHUANIA

Prof. Ntoutsi, and Ph.Ds Emmanouil Panagiotou, Chethan Krishnamurthy Ramanaik, Arjun Roy, und Siamak Ghodsi attended the ECML PKDD 2024 in Vilnius, Lithuania, from September 09-13, 2024. The conference is considered Europe's leading event for machine learning and data analytics and looks back on a history of over two decades. This year, Prof. Eirini Ntoutsi was the Research Track co-chair for ECML PKDD.

Our team had a great presence at the conference. Specifically, we participated with the following papers:

• A workshop paper “Synthetic Tabular Data Generation for Class Imbalance and Fairness: A Comparative Study” from Emmanouil Panagiotou (presenter), Arjun Roy, and Eirini Ntoutsi at the BIAS workshop.
• A workshop paper “Adversarial Robustness of Variational Autoencoders across Intersectional Subgroups” from Chethan Krishnamurthy Ramanaik (presenter), Arjun Roy, and Eirini Ntoutsi at the BIAS workshop.
• An extension of the paper "FairBranch: Mitigating Bias Transfer in Fair Multi-task Learning" from Arjun Roy (presenter), and Eirini Ntoutsi, at the Nectar track.
• An extension of the paper "Towards Cohesion-Fairness Harmony: Contrastive Regularization in Individual Fair Graph Clustering" from Siamak Ghodsi (presenter), and Eirini Ntoutsi, at the Nectar track.
