In this collaborative research study, we performed both experimental and numerical investigations of cyclopentane sprays in a transcritical environment. Large-eddy simulations (LES) based on the vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) assumption were conducted by the group of Prof. Markus Klein (Numerische Methoden in der Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik, UniBw M). Optical diagnostics were performed by our institute for deeper insights into the complex phase change and mixing behaviour of sprays.
