Juniorprof. Dr.-Ing. Christian Hofmann

Christian Hofmann is the head of the Secure Space Communications Research Group at the Institute of Information Technology. He received his Ph.D. degree (Dr.-Ing.) in radio communications from the Munich University of the Bundeswehr in 2015 for his work on outdoor MIMO channel modeling. Since 2017 he has been Assistant Professor of Secure Space Communications at the Bundeswehr University’s Munich Center of Space Communications. His main fields of interests are protected satellite communications, narrowband waveforms, Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) satellite communication systems, channel measurement and capacity analysis. From mumerous research projects and measurements campaigns he headed or contributed to, he has gained extensive expertise in wireless channel characterization at carrier frequencies in the VHF-band up to EHF-band. He is author and co-author of more than 40 scientific papers on wireless and satellite communications including 5 patents.
