Jasmin Riedl combines political science approaches with methods from computer science. She works on political competition, social and political polarisation and radicalisation. A particular focus is on (digital) political violence and strategies for delegitimising political institutions and actors in the context of elections.
Among other things, she is leading the research project SPARTA (Society, Politics and Risk with Twitter Analysis), which has been researching solutions for social media monitoring since 2021. Here, she and her interdisciplinary team from the fields of political science, computer science and mathematics are analysing the digital trace and behavioural data on the platforms X/Twitter, TikTok and YouTube.
