Dr. Erika E. Gericke is a researcher and lecturer at the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg in the field of International and Comparative Vocational Education and Training. She conducted her PhD thesis on biographical occupation orientations of car mechatronics in England and Germany (Title (translation): Biographical occupation orientations of car mechatronics in England and Germany. A qualitative comparative study). Her current research is on vocational education and training (VET) cultures in England and Germany with the focus on social practices in the class room. Her research interests include comparative vocational education training, vocational teacher training, curriculum, qualitative research methods and the history of single occupations.
