A QuSAC researcher, Marzio Mula, attended the conference Cifris24 held in Rome on September 25-27, 2024. He also presented a recent work by the QuSAC group, together with CODE colleague Sören Kleine, on proving knowledge of isogenies.

Workshop in Edinburgh

A researcher from QuSaC, Thomas den Hollander, participated in the 5-day workshop Foundations and Applications of Zero-Knowledge Proofs in Edinburgh. It was an opportunity to broaden his knowledge of modern zero-knowledge proof systems as well as meet and discuss with other researchers in the area. He also presented the recent QuSaC-paper "A Crack in the Firmament: Restoring Soundness of the Orion Proof System and More".

Leuven Isogeny Days 5

Two researchers from the QuSAC lab (Marzio Mula and Sebastian Spindler) attended the 5th installment of the Isogeny Days in Leuven (Belgium) from 11 to 13 September 2024. The main themes discussed in the talks and in the brainstorming sessions revolve around the use of higher-dimensional abelian varieties, generalized pairings, and quaternion algebras for both constructive and destructive purposes in isogeny-based protocols. A recent preprint co-authored by one of our researchers (Marzio Mula) "The Hessian of elliptic curves" was also presented during the workshop.

Top Reviewer Award at ACM CCS 2023

Prof. Dr. Daniel Slamanig was honored with a Top Reviewer Award at the 30th ACM SIGSAC Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS 2023), which is taking place from November 26th to 30th in Copenhagen, Denmark. The ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS) is the flagship annual conference of the Special Interest Group on Security, Audit and Control (SIGSAC) of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and is one of the top four academic security conferences worldwide.

Establishment of the QuSAC Lab

Prof. Dr. Daniel Slamanig joined the Research Institute CODE and the Department of Computer Science at the Universität der Bundeswehr München on November 1 2023 as Full Professor of Cryptology. At RI CODE he established the Quantum Safe & Advanced Cryptography (QuSAC) Lab. Upon his appointment Prof. Slamanig gave an interview (in German) where he talks about his research and future plans.
