Prof. Dr. jur. Shirin Maria Massumi M.B.L. is the holder of the professorship "Business and Labor Law" at the Faculty of Business Administration since May 2022.
Shirin Maria Massumi researches and teaches in the field of business and labor law. She studied law at the University of Augsburg. She specialized in international business law and graduated with a Master of Business Law. Subsequently, she wrote her doctoral thesis on "Quo vadis - company purchase agreements? A German - Anglo/American Comparative Law" with summa cum laude at Paris Lodron University Salzburg.
Shirin Maria Massumi is particularly interested in the interface between law and business and their interdependencies. She has gained a broad practical experience in business and labor law in law firms, financial institutions, private equity companies, management consultancies and internationally active companies.
In addition to her professional activities, she has taught for many years at the Technical Universities of Rosenheim and Ingolstadt for bachelor, master and doctoral students and published on the topic of business law.
Shirin Maria Massumi works as a lawyer and sees her professorship as a close combination of professional experience from many years of legal work, practice-oriented research and university teaching in order to ensure a constant transfer of knowledge from practice and research for the students.
